Dr Josephine Llale is a Professional Quantity Surveyor working at the nexus of Infrastructure, Development, and Education. Her work leans into an ecosystem approach that facilitates partnerships where the private, social, and public sector can design, develop, and deliver infrastructure projects that are built to last and create shared value. Josephine believes that infrastructure should be designed with empathy and built for sustainable cities and inclusive communities. She is the founder of the privately held firm Obakeng Quantity Surveyors, and the leadership coaching and training initiative Coachmasters.

Quantity Surveyor
In 2022 Josephine was recognised by The South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession as the first black woman to achieve her PhD in Quantity Surveying. Her doctoral thesis focused on the “Future scenarios for the quantity surveying profession- adaptation socio-technical change.” Read more.

Now serving as a Senior Lecturer, she holds a BSc. Degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of the Witwatersrand, an MSc in Quantity Surveying from the University of Pretoria, and a Ph.D. from the University of the Witwatersrand. Read more.
